What's New
Twin Otter Float Production 2 April 2009
The original Twin Otter DHC-6 floats will be back in production in 2009 after a 15 year absence from the market. P.K. Floats Inc and Kenn Borek Air Ltd. are pleased to announce the forming of a licensing partnership to manufacture the CAP 12000 model float for the De Havilland Twin Otter.
P.K. Floats Inc. will manufacture the CAP Floats at its Lincoln, Maine facility. P.K. Floats will also be responsible for the sales and parts distribution. According to PK President Alton Bouchard, they also plan to do several upgrades on the floats including modifying the floats for storage compartments and adding hydroboosters. The addition of hydroboosters has proven to increase takeoff performance and durability on the existing models of P.K. floats, while also reducing spray produced during takeoff and landing.
The floats will be available for the 100, 200, and 300 series Twin Otters direct from P.K. Floats and for the new 400 series through Viking Aircraft in the future.
Additional information will be available on the P.K. and Kenn Borek Air website within the next 60 days. This information will include pricing, production schedule, upgrades, options and first delivery dates. The information may be viewed at www.pkfloats.com.
